Not sure what you're asking. "Bed" and "box" typically mean the same thing, so yes, all short bed trucks came with a (short) box. But there weren't any short box F-350 pickups until '99. They were all long box (8').
And as to a half ton box fitting an F-350 dually, there's the obvious problem of the dually fenders. Yes you can cut out the bed sides and graft on fenders, but it's not like you can just put it on. Also I've heard that '80s duallies had a narrower box, so a box from a single wheel truck might not have enough clearance for the inside tires either.
C&C means cab and chassis. Cab and chassis trucks had a oddball frame and rearend width after the cab, so pickup boxes will not fit on a cab and chassis truck.
