Man after driving my 89 crew cab around i got back in our super duty and i feel like i have allot more space in the superduty. you guys think its actually bigger or could it be just the bench seat in 89 vs the buckets in 00..
I have a '97 crew cab. Previously I had an '08 and an '02 (both crews). I never took a tape measrer to them, but i definitely think at least the driver's seat of the SuperDuty has more room than the older model. And that's a big reason I no longer own a SuperDuty. More room isn't always good. Would you rather have a pair of boots that were a size too big? They'd never feel right and they'd give you blisters. Same thing (sort of) for me with the SuperDuties. I couldn't get comfortable in the seat. It just didn't fit. Everything was too far away (arm rests, mainly, obviously I could slide the seat closer to the wheel). The seat itself was really comfortable, but I was so much more sore after a 200 mile drive (to say nothing about a long day of driving). I went back to an older cab (I had put about 300k miles combined on an '85 and a '95 before the SuperDuties). It's so nice again to have a truck I don't dread driving!
While I'm certain newer cabs are larger, they actually feel smaller to me...
My neighbor's 2012(not entirely sure) F250 CC is so loaded with features, and massive seats that hug you, that it feels cramped, in a cold and harsh way.
The cab of my '96 F350 feels more open and roomy, yet still maintains this sense of coziness. I'm happy in my older cab, which is why I'm happy in my older Mercedes, where the focus was on driving, not creature comforts.
hey im not saying its a good or bad thing, im just saying its a noticabe difference. i remember when i worked for a rv dealer as a rv tech we used to have to put wood risers under the pickup truck campers in just superdutys as the cab was actually taller then any other trucks.

Been there. Done that. Not a big issue, but another reason I was glad to be back in my '97. (Of course I don't have my slide-in camper anymore so it no longer matters.)
