are you moving the computer controls from the 5.0 truck WITH the new motor ? You have to know how many cylinders, what size injectors, how much fuel per injection... etc... all PROGRAMMED in the computer.......... and the wire harness ? sensors ?
see how others faired... Yeah, if I do it, I'll get the whole enchilada.. . Including the headers and exhaust, I'd hope... I'm having a bunch of code troubles with this engine, that I'm about to go crazy (crazier?) I'd like to find somethin that was rolled or rear ended to harvest all the parts...

Reason: adding
Unless you REALLY enjoy puzzles or have some sentimental attachment to your current 2002 Explorer, you could likely find something very similar to your current Explorer but but with the V8 for less money than what you'd end up spending in parts and frustration trying to switch yours to a V8 and get it working properly. You could also consider a Mercury Mountaineer (sister to the Explorer) and the Lincoln Aviator (similar truck with nicer interior, generally more features, different body panels, DOHC V8 engine with 305 HP, and more aluminum in the suspension).
Yea, I would get a different truck with the V8 in it if that is what you want... Then you have yours for spare transmission / differential / tires... etc.
