Does anyone use Forscan with their Explorer? I know there is a database going with the 2017 SDs. There is some stuff going for the previous generations. However, I am playing around with a 2008 Ford Explorer and a 2005. The 2008 has an issue with the door locks not lock and unlock properly. My father was told it's the control module but I am not seeing any module. So I want to look further in the programming as it seems to be a programming issue if he does some weird combo with a key, switch and the display. Don't know.
So any resources out there that basically gives an idea what and which module to look for?
You didn't provide much detail on the issue with the locks, but I'd be more inclined to suspect an issue with the door ajar switch or the wiring between the door and the cabin. Both of those issues are pretty common issues with the Explorers prior to the platform change to car-based.
I'm pretty sure in the 2008 the locks are controlled by the Smart Junction Box (SJB). Do you see the SJB in Forscan?

You know I completely forgot about this. My father just deals with it however he did find out more about his particular Explorer. It might be some kind of police edition model since the dealer he bought it from supplied a local department. According to one of his customer's brother (I think) started telling him all about the vehicle. He knew all about them since he is a LEO and had one for awhile. The door locks act like you have to open them up from the outside only not inside. Yes we checked the child switches. You need to open the driver's door to unlock all the doors using the unlock button. They just don't unlock when the vehicle is off. It's definitely not normal Ford doors.
