Vsm not where it should be? 2002 super duty

Power locks not working and door ajar light stays on bought a new vsm and ripped the dash apart can't find it, is it possible someone re routed it and put an aftermarket or something of the sort

The VSM is present ONLY it the truck was factory-equipped with remote keyless entry. If equipped, it will be behind the HVAC and radio control panel. Remove the lower center trim to access.

If not equipped, the door ajar switches (which usually get gummed up from hardened grease) are wired directly into the instrument cluster. The power lock actuators are directly controlled by the door switches.
