I have a 2012 fx2 Ford f150. I installed my self led lights under the truck so when I open the door the lights open. So I can see where I'm stepping. I connected the lights through the driver side back seat.
I normally wash the truck in my garage even in the winter. The other day I decided to go through the self wash and the spinning towels got caught with my lights and pulled off from under my truck. Now I can't get my dome lights to turn on when I open the door.
My problem.
Door lights won't turn on when opening door. No door chime either
I manually hold my switch 5 seconds to turn on light doesn't work either. The only thing that turns on is my cargo light.
Things I've checked.
All fuses that are light related. Under the hood as well. Pulled every single one out and check. Last night I looked for Interior relay couldn't find anything.
Dash lights still working radio windows everything but dome lights.
Any insight what problem could be would be really Appreciated. Sorry for any bad grammer
Actually now that you mention it no. I've have not. I've only check where I wired my leds. I'm going to take it apart when I get home and check for loose wiring. Did not cross my mind.
This is what found out I took apart everything. I traced the purple wire to where it connected too. I couldn't find much I tried making sure wires where nice and tight. That purple and turn into a brownish tan color. I followed that to fuse box. I did find some corrosion in side the connections but not with cables that I needed. Is there something I can spray in there to clean that up. Here some pictures if it helps anything.
I forgot to mention if I manually press the light switch manually they turn on but not with the switch on the dash board.

Reason: Forgot to mention light switch.
After 2 weeks of investigation I decided to call my local ford. I explained them my situation they check the things I checked. They couldn't find anything. Apparently they have never seen some wire there own leds around here. I then decided to call random ford somewhere in California because they deal with more people modifying there cars and trucks. Then they told my dealer to do scan on bcm to see if there was any errors. They then Proceeded to scan the truck. They found many errors. They told me that I had to replace my bcm if I wanted to get my dome lights turn on again.
