Smittybuilt M1 bumper. Pretty sturdy, been hit already, no damage, just touched it up with some black paint.

I weigh 215# and use it as a step at least once every 2 weeks for years now and no scratches. If your worried about a scratch there parking in a public area must be hell on the nerves.

I do the same. No scratches on the bumper. Pretty hard to scratch chrome. Painted bumpers on a KR or platinum I could see the hesitation though.

But the other fact is that every painted bumper gets rock chipped anyway. I don't know how some of you guys get through life being so ****. My truck looks nice and I take care of it, but it gets used and is far from perfect if you look close.

I have a huge Werner platform, but this one gets used much more. It rides in the back of the truck most of the time. Some of the best tool $$ I've ever spent. With a coupon or sale, you can get them for $20 about all the time.

I'm one of those whackjobs whose vehicle you see at the end of the parking lot needing a 5 mile hike to get to place I'm going too - always park in an "end" spot and parallel park whenever possible. If I'm not in an end spot or parallel parked the nerves are frazzled.

I'm also a whackjob, the problem is that when I return to my remotely parked vehicle, there is always a piece of junk parked almost against it.

I'm in the same boat of parking away some but it has more to do with size of truck (extended cab and long bed).

I always sit in the Truck while my Wife Does the Shopping. Twice I have been Hit in the Butt end of my Truck by Elderly Ladies pulling in Behind me. Luckily my Trailer Ball saved me both times, but unfortunately left a Tennis Ball size Dent in Their front Bumper.

I've got a freshly painted rear bumper thanks to the perimeter plus and my ability to run out of the store before the person disappeared.

I usually stand on my front wheels. My favorite Ford mechanic drove the truck up to his bench and worked off that lol.
