Another overdrive off light flash thread!

Hey after doing some searching I couldn't find very much for a solid answer for my problem so I made my own thread.i just bought a 93 F-250 4x4 7.3 idi turbo and the overdrive off light is blinking. It also makes like a deep clicking type noise that I can feel through the gas pedal. I tried the paperclip trick to find a trouble code and the light quit flashing and the cel didnt do anything. Any thoughts or advice appreciated!

My thought is to go over the procedure again carefully and see where you went wrong. http://www.troublecodes.net/ford/

Alright so I did the key on engine off test and I'm pretty positive that it's the throttle position sensor. I had checked codes on my old f-250 with the 351w and used to write everything down this time I took a video and posted it to youtube so I could have someone double check me. I'm clearing the computer now to get rid of all the stored codes and to see if anything comes up. Here's my
if anyone wants to take a look!

I put a new tps in and cranked up the motor and my od off light was still blinking. Wasn't able to get my ground cables off the terminals or test the tps but I'll try that tomorrow after work. Any advice appreciated

When you ran the engine off test did you hold the accelerator pedal to the floor? If not you will get a TPS code.

No I did not, from the research that I had done I didn't know that had to be done. I'll try that out in a bit and see what shows up.

So if anyone reads this I solved my issue. It ended up spitting out the trouble code for the manual lever position sensor or trans safety switch or neutral safety switch, it seems every auto parts store calls it something different. I didn't have the tools to replace the male connector but I snapped the old one in the new sensor, disconnected my batteries to clear the computer and the truck drives waaaay better. Also I would highly recommend putting the parking brake on. When you take everything off it is going to shift the trans and you don't wanna get run over if you're not working on a perfectly flat surface.
