Overdrive off light flashes

Overdrive off light flashes
Does anyone know what this means. My off light on the shifter for the overdrive is flahing. I have no idea what it is flashing for. Anyone with the same problem? Everything seems to be working fine. I do feel a small thump when accelerating normally from a light but it has been this way for years.
1996 f150 5.8 4x4 77000 mi.

The flashing light means that the computer has detected a problem and has stored the trouble code. Might be worth getting the codes read.

Mine did that and it was my tps out of adjustment.

TPS: Throttle Position Sensor.
That is the first time I ever heard of it flashing the OD light.
But at any rate see what codes you have in CM.
