I know a lot of people are going to call me crazy for this but I want to go back to the sealed beam look on my 04 Lariat. I have always loved the sealed beam look, I guess I’m just a sucker for the old look. Anyway my buddy has an old XJ Cherokee that got wrecked and he’s parting it out now. Well he has some Truck-Lite LEDs in there that he will let me have for 100 bucks. Anyway, I’m trying to figure out what all I need to install these. I know I need a left and right headlight bezel and the headlight retainer and all corresponding nuts and bolts. What I don’t know is if there’s a metal surround behind the light that the headlight retainer bolts to or does it just go straight to the header panel?
Go find yourself a set of Hella headlights. You will love the light output if they will fit.
Just happened to see something I missed about Hela headlights.
If you up the wattage you are going to want to add a set of relays.
The added current puts excessive draw on the stock wit=ring .
The sealed beam style has a two piece mounting system. The bezel bolts on to a "bucket bracket" that holds all the headlight mounting and aiming stuff. The "bucket bracket" bolts on to the core support.
If you go to Tasca Parts website the parts explosion is very good. The headlight stuff is all listed under the headlight section. But the bezel is listed under parking lights.
