So I finally got Torque Pro and an Elm327 Bluetooth adapter. I like it so far but have a quick question.
I was told if would do FCIM info, ICP and IPR info etc. and though I see the info there the sensors are black which I have come to find means they are inactive and green means active. How do I activate them?
Yes, you are ignoring the top message on the screen -- the obdII adapter is not connected. Did you pair it with your device 1st? The first adapter I got was unreliable and ended up getting a second one from the seller -- no problems since...
I have had it paired and the sensors don't show as active
Show me a screen shot that it has the car symbol and all other connections established. If the blue tooth is working, you are connected to the adapter and the adapter connects to the ECU and you Still don't have data, we should look for adapter errors and maybe changing some settings...
From the messages/symbols I see, you aren't connected and it won't try the ECU until Torque is connected to the adapter...
Go into Adapter settings and uncheck faster communications (if it is checked) and then check the Disable auto timing box. I see the comm speed self adjusting so there is a possibility it isn't handling the queries to the ECU.
Let's ignore the graphing for now -- it is a separate thing to set up PIDs you want to data-log and then graph the data you captured.
EGR delete, what year truck? If later model and no CEL light is getting set then you have some sort of tune going. A tuner or a data intercept/tune device can change what you see (or in this case, not see).
So, if we don't have something grabbing the data then we have a problem with the adapter, or perhaps pins bent in the obdII port (easy to check). Easiest thing to change would be the s/w, unless you know someone else with an adapter you can test.
You could try loading Forscan and see if it changes anything, I'm skeptical. I still, based on my bad adapter experience, suspect it if we don't have something else messing with the data stream. My bad adapter wasn't just a failed unit, that would have been too easy. Mine "sorta' worked" it would drop sometimes (that was easy to see), but then some PIDs wouldn't update and others would, huh? If I was trying to set up a real time screen, I would expect it not to show those PIDs having any value, like you are seeing.
That wasn't the order it happened for me, so it is just a theory. I don't run a tune, so I'm only going off what others have said. I was new to Torque when I had that 1st bad adapter, so I didn't ever check for errors, I did play with the speed which helped it a little...
I'm running out of ideas, sorry... There is a Torque forum btw, and you could try asking Qs there as well...
Not check engine light is showing up. However the adapter does see codes related to the EGR. I'll send you an image of that in a sec. After I did the change you suggested and I drove the truck for a min the items such as FCIM voltage etc started showing up.

See if you can get the Seller to send you another adapter -- mine did w/o requiring a return and I just canned the 1st one...
