Bad IPR or Failing hpop??

Hey guys I have been watching my icp and noticed that it seems low under WOT. I have been suspecting their might be something going on with the IPR but am unsure. ICP seems fine AT idle, between 550-585. If I am going through the gears at about 3/4 throttle, ICP seems well between 2700-2900 , and sometimes hits 3000 psi. If I get all the way into the pedal it drops all the way down to 2100-2300 and does not recoup until I back off the throttle a little. Does this seem normal? I usually run a 80hp tune so these aren't stock numbers. I have read In the past that it is rare for the hoop to fail on these so that's why I was leaning toward the IPR. Been wanting to try a new IPR but don't want to waste money. Also wanted to add that I have replaced hpop lines and stc fittings to non check valve fittings. Another reason I was wanting to try a IPR is I can't figure out my rough idle issue. My ICP numbers usually stay pretty tight but I have noticed them drop down to 480-500 abruptly, but rarely. What do you guys think, am i on the right track or out in left field?

I would suspect your injector o-rings before HPOP.

I would suspect ipr, or even the icp before hpop. I just ran into an issue on my excursion wouldn't build above 950 on icp, replaced ipr and all is back to normal.

What brand of tuner are you using and who wrote them tunes?

What is your FIPW when the ICP takes a dump?

Look at your fuel filter to see if is black.

Exact same scenario I was going through. Read through this thread. Your FIPW is going to high and causing ICP to tank. I have tried two different tuners and am still not happy with the tunes but it is on the back burner for now.

DP. Id yank that off my ECM in a heartbeat to see what stock tells you with the numbers. If it fixes it then Id suspect the toons first or bad contact w chip second. Id not buy a HPOP until Id tried everthing else. To manyh dudes here have fell for that BS and wasted $$$ on a high dollar bandaid. I had a issue similar and as it turns out was teh toons all along. kletus was right as usuall.

thanks chevota,, yes it looks like the same problem you were having just not as severe of a icp drop.

well i put it in stock and it holds a steady 2700 psi. doesn't dump when i step on it, but of course not nearly as much power. looks like chevota went through the same thing with no luck. looks like the tuner is to blame , at least partly anyways. guess i will reach out to jody and see what he says.

From what I've read on this forum, I believe the HPOP almost never fails (except for the "non-serviceable plug". Try something cheaper (like the IPR)
