im new to the diesel world and new to Ford, we’ll almost.. I had a 1974 Pinto when I was in college! So, I bought a 2017 just 2 weeks ago and yesterday I got a check engine light. The code I got was P2200. After reading so internet stuff, it seems to be a catalytic converters. Anyone else run into this MIL code? I’m taking it in this Thursday to the dealership. Thanks!
After watching that video I found one wire harness that definitely would be rubbing on the underside of the truck over time, and put some heavy plastic loom all around it to protect it. I also found a couple other wires that look like they could use it as well just to be on the safe side, since I had some extra Loom leftover I didn't want to let it go to waste. It got too dark outside to take pictures, but it's pretty easy after watching that video to identify where you might want to do a little preventive maintenance on these trucks.
The chafe protection on the sensor wires looked like it might be made for high temperature installations. I have used regular wire loom before, but does anyone have a source for high temp chafe protection?
I have a bunch of high temp woven fiberglass sheathing that we used to shield the high temp wiring on the barrels of plastic injection molding machines. It could lay directly on a 480v electric heater band. But none of the diameters that we used were over 3/4"...so it probably couldn't be used as it likely wouldn't fit iver the connectors.
