Engine Code P0136

Engine Code P0136
Does anyone have any info on this code. The only info I got from the reader that pulled this was that it was on Oxygen sensor circuit bank 1 sensor 2. I was told this does not necessarily mean sensor is bad? Anyone have this problem? Any Ideas?. Check engine light comes on then goes off after a few days. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

That is the same 02 sensor I had to replace on my 1996. It is a heated sensor and
apparently the heat feature causes it to fail. It is a pain to replace because or where
it is located but it can be done and should clear the code. Mine didn't have any
driveablity problems but the check engine light was on. Changing it cured my problem.

Bank 1 on a transverse Ford engine will be the bank near the firewall. On a longitudinal Ford engine it will be the passenger side (U.S.). Sensor 1 is before the converter, sensor 2 is after the converter.
Keep in mind, as stated above, the code does not necessarily indicate that the sensor is bad, it just means a problem has been identified with the circuit related to that sensor.
