Flatbed questions

I recently got a 1994 f250 without a bed I'm waiting on the flatbed to show up for it I have never installed one before but I don' think it would be to big of a deal I pretty much have it down what I need to do but would like pictures of similar trucks and the mounts I'm more worried about making sure the bed sets level on the frame I know there is a difference in frame front to rear where the bed mounts I'm just not sure the difference thanks in advance for any help or pics

bump it for some action, be patient.

You will probably have to get some treated wood and use it to bring the bed level.

While the frame is exposed, it is a good time to check the frame and do some painting on it!

When I put a flatbed on my pickup I used a chain hoist to hold it where I wanted it on the pickup. Then I measured how up for a bracket and welded up a backet.

I used a couple pieces of angle iron to rest on top of the frame rail. A piece of square tubing would work, too.

I wouldn’t mess with wood.

I agree with 79Ford on the alignment issue. I built my own to factory spec cab n chassis size but used 1/8th" channel iron and added more x members in case i decided to add a hoist and used 1/4" flat stock and scribed it to 1/2" clearance to close the ugly gap between bed rails and frame.
I'd try to take a pic of one you like and use it as an example for yours, i did that from a few dump trailers to gather the best ideas for one i custom built for my needs. This my 78' just after completing the bed and also with 4" channel side rails (bolted on) with stake pockets in case i needed it flat for some reason.
Good Luck and enjoy the build...i did.

Bought in 5/82 and used 5 yrs. summers only, been setting mostly until now. Only mods have been bed, wheels, tires, engine professionally rebuilt and stroked to a 400, Flowmaster 1 in 2 out with side exhaust, not much at taking pics to date but will take more as i progress. Just installed new bed I'm building from specs of original just heavier steel in case i want to make dump. The other pic is just before putting in the distant garage for additional mods.

Nov.2016 before putting in garage to make improvements ie; Change grill to a 77', paint engine remove cab, paint frame, install all new cab mounts & bushings, insulate cab, undercoat, new sound system, running boards ?, possible rear disc brakes, trick out engine & repaint cab.

Also, it has a diamond plate deck with HD tie downs spaced at 50" across (plywood) and bolted through cross members as well as a HD hitch.
