I'm asking if you have any information, technique, or pictures of removing the bed and cab of my 79 ford I would greatly appreciate it. I want to keep the front clip on the truck. I want to clean the frame and POR15 it.
Also if you all know of anything that might hang me up while doing this, I'm all ears.
My bed to frame carriage bolts wouldn't budge, I had to grind off the heads and knock them thru. i tried everything freeze off, PB, heat nothing worked.
Pending your strength level......and I ain't that big or strong....get 3 or 4 other guys, promise a 12 pack and have them pull the bed and cab off at the same time. You get the bolts broke, cut or other wise "off" of the truck and have it ready to remove. It'll take less than 20 minutes to do and splitting a few beers between friends is always a good thing. Tell'em in a few days, weeks or months, you're gona have them all meet up and do it again in reverse. I personally used my neighbor and his boys. Me and the neighbor split a 6 pack twice and his boys got $20 each ($10off and $10on)
Why? That's just gonna make the job harder I would think. You will have to support the front clip in the back somehow. There are only two body mounts holding it to frame.
I would remove front clip, then cab, then bed.
