im trying to install the 7 pin plug in the cargo box. I did not order the 5th wheel package but I have tow package and trailer brake. The part number is HC3Z 15A416A. I talked to Ford on the phone and they said it is the correct part. My problem is I cannot find where to plug it in under the truck, I have 2 plugs down there but the do not fit in the sockets.. if anybody can take a picture of where this plugs into the harness, I would appreciate it.
I had to Google a better picture of the part number.
Looks like you would unplug the existing 7 pin connector in the bumper, plug one end of your harness into that. Then plug the other end into the 7 pin harness coming from the front of the truck.
Ok got it mounted up and it plugs right in like you both said. Now I have no power to either plug..😩 Any ideas? I started the truck, pressed the brakes and the trailer brakes.. I will start looking at fuses I guess.
Ok, figured it out.. I started it, pressed the brakes nothing.. no power.. turned on the headlights.. bingo! 👍🏼 I will be jumping the wires next to get constant power. Thanks for the help. 👍🏼

Sounds like a great way to run your batteries down if a short develops.
