Just bought my first IDI. I've had a bunch of 6.0s and usually live in that forum.
This was a flood truck down here in Houston. It was running fine before the storm, now it's locked up so I figure it got water in the engine.
Disclaimer: I'm a legendary screw up, thus the Bonehead avatar. I know nothing but that never keeps me from plowing ahead anyway.
I know the basic plan - pull the glow plugs and turn the engine by hand to pump the water out. Change all the fluids. Any other tips for trying to get this to run again? Prolly won't get to it until next week, but I'll update as I progress. Here's the pic:
I'm storing it at my bro's house for now and he noticed how far those rear hubs stick out, almost like it's a dually with only one wheel. I see what he means in the pics, but 250s didn't come as duallys, did they? I'm assuming it just looks that way.
I am going to swap buckets into my 86 f250 sclb which currently has a bench seat. Make sure you get another bench from a Supercab so it will tilt forward to allow access to the back bench seat. If you want to recover the seat currently in your truck consider these folks:
