FE parts. Where to find them?
It's been 22 years since I last built an FE(which I am still driving), I am doing another one again now but finding it hard to find quality parts at a reasonable price (or what I think is reasonable).
And I'm not talking reciprocating stuff, I already have that. I would like to replace the pushrods and complete rocker arm assemblies. This is a mild build so stock pieces are fine. I found rocker arm assys. for about $240 new, but no doubt Chinese made. Maybe that is fine? Pushrods, who knows, but they aren't that expensive.
I'm also looking for new tins(could be alum for the VC's), which seems like a complete crap-shoot. I have the old, but think would save time using new.
Any suggestions?

I got some rebuilt rocker arms when I rebuilt my motor about 6 years ago. The machine shop that reworked the block sourced them from someone local. The shafts and rockers can be bought new from Summit too.
Centerline Auto Parts, Puyallup, WA 253-848-3526 <--- The machine shop I used.
Ford racing has aluminum valve covers.

Aftermarket oil pans are available on Summit. If you have a 2WD front sump get one with the drain in the stock location. I used a Milodon pan with a side drain, and it was in the middle of the cross member. Damn near impossible to get to.
I don't know of any new timing covers. Sand blast the original then paint it.

For non adjustable rockers, off shore or reman are about it. Crane still offers their ductile iron adjustable rockers and then there's a number of roller rocker assemblies available.
None of them are cheap in price anymore.
Most pushrods from well known cam companies are good, Crane, Comp Cams, ect.
Like said valve covers are a crap-shoot, pick the ones you like.
For a street cruiser a stock oil pan is fine otherwise I want something with a few baffles to keep oil at the pickup. Not many offerings for rear drain plug pickup pans.
I'd clean up the timing cover and reuse it, but there are new replacement timing covers available from Dove, Pond, Blue Thunder, Shelby. Be prepared to pay $150+ for a new one.

Thanks all.
I have a spare Ford timing cover and oil pan that I could recondition and use. VC's, not so much. You either spend a little and get crap, or much, much more and get similar to the Ford racing covers that are really overkill for this project.
The rockers and shafts are pretty worn. They should be replaced now and I will have no worries down the road. Full roller, or even roller tip are completely unnecessary. I guess I'll go off-shore...ugh.
Any one used the "off-shore" rocker assemblies?

There's a few sets of good used VC on eBay for decent price, chrome is garbage on the cheapie sets, several choices in aluminum.
Melling's still shows rockers and shafts in their new catalog.
Rocker # MR-859 non adjustable - Summit $24.02 each
Shaft # MRS-641 - Advanced Auto $26.99 each
That's over $400 for what might be US made.
