So, I was walking by the truck today and saw a small oil spot in my driveway. Looked at the filter, and sure enough, the doofuses at the dealership that changes my oil must have torqued the filter to 9,000 ft lbs. I'll be going back to have them try again (since it's free), and I'm worried that the filter gasket on there now is probably ruined.
While I was under there, I decided to look around the rest of the truck and found evidence of a leak that is shown in the pictures. It appears to be coming from the gasket of that pan. It looks like oil, but I'm not familiar with the 6.7, so I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction. It's not the oil pan, but it might be the bottom of the crank case? It's under warranty, so I'm not too concerned, but I still would like to know what it is. Thanks for the help!
Back a little to show perspective. Front of the truck is to the top left.
On an oil change about a year ago, I parked the truck. Got in the next day and noticed a big oil spot on the floor. It wasthe guy doing theoil change who never cleaned up spoiled oil. Never happened before and hasn't happened since
Thanks a lot for the replies everyone. I'll post back what I find out tomorrow.

That thought never even crossed my mind. It is ideas like this that made me join this forum in the first place. I'll check that tomorrow when the sun is up. Good thinking!

I hope that's what the problem is here! I don't like the idea of these guys tearing into the motor after only 10K miles.

I'll let you know what they tell me tomorrow. Hopefully, it is what the others have eluded to, and the oil change guy is just an idiot. With that said, if he gunked up my motor, I'm going to have a talk with the dealer either way! It wasn't smoking or anything that smelled like burning oil, so I'm not sure.
Looks like your front diff cover is covered with oil on the right side?
I've read that some oil leaks on the drivers side has come from the crankcase vapor/oil separator was cracked allowing oil to stain the drivers side engine.
The oil can be spray from dripping caused by the wind turbulence under the truck while driving. Could be from leaking oil filter or drain plug (presuming either shows sign of leaking). New oil run through the engine for a day doesn't look new. Spilled on the outside...i suspect would look new maybe.
My oil has dye in it now but I have not had time to check for any new leakage. I will this weekend hopefully it’s residual oil/turbulence but I suspect it’s a leak.

I hope it’s residual, but we’ll find out. I’m at the dealer now. It sounds like they are adding the dye as well. They are a little backed up today, and they don’t have any loaners, so I may have to come back. They are handling the oil change real quick, but will reschedule the oil leak investigation. It isn’t horrible, and I need my truck for snow-megeddon that is hitting tonight and tomorrow. While it’s in, I am also having them swap out the cup holders for the new non-rubber style. My rubber bubbles are all pushed in.
