Ordered a air filter and door lock actuator from Horizon Ford, will be installing both today.
Going to pick up Calipers from them later too so I can finally install the brake lines. $85+ tax isn't bad IMO.
Hmm, air filters...don’t think I changed mine after all the smoke this year. Last year there was some nasty stuff in my filter. Might have to pull it tomorrow and check it out.
Is Horizon Ford still offering their online/PartsGuyEd discount? They moved too far away from my normal travels to make it an easy trip for me. Might do a bulk order of a few things if they still offer a discount. I’ve found it’s normally cheaper than even Amazon.
You might want to take a look at the track bar.
While your checking that this test will show any other wear. Start the engine
and have someone rock the steering wheel while you get on the ground and
check all the joints to see if any have too much movement.
Do you have a center support bearing in the driveline? There is an alinement step for that.
Other things to check are the engine and trans mounts. Not likely but also check the serpentine
belt path and all the idlers and coolant pump.
@onug I did get the discount. Call Wyatt or Tim and mention the online pricing. I could have saved a few bucks on the acuator but no big deal. Getting the right parts and I like the service.
I noticed the air filter was dirty at the meet through the side hole.
Actuators are slightly different in construction.
I hauled a load of scrap metal today, 520lbs and $16.40 in total. Prices are not what they used to be.
I got all my OEM parts from them for years. But given where I live, I’d only go when my work took me into Seattle. There new location is just too far outside my normal roaming range.
New to the site, in Snoqualmie looking to buy a 18/19 SD Any good local dealer contacts worth a damn?
If you don’t have something you want to trade in, I suggest watching the specials at Ford of Kirkland. They seem to have a lot of heavily discounted trucks, especially if you’re willing to take an ‘18 this late in the game. But they’ll scalp you on the trade, so don’t bother if you want an honest deal.
If you’re not too picky on the truck, then I’d find a truck or two at a few local dealerships and just spend the next few weeks playing phone tag and “make me a better offer” games.
I hate to say this. But I go out of my way to not support the Seattle economy.
There only a few places that I must by things from in Seattle.
Meh, forgot to double quote on my last post...
Yeah, I’m in the same camp. Not only do I try to not spend my money down there, I just hate going into Seattle. It’s just an unfriendly city for trucks.
