2017 F350 Key Fobs
Purchased a new 2017 F350 Platinum 4x4 in Sept. Love the truck with many accessories over the 2015 that I had previously.
With the two large key Fobs I am wondering what most people do with the second one? With keys I used to store the second key in the rear of the cab for emergency situations and that worked well. With a Fob one can not do that as anyone can break in hit the start button and go! Am I correct on this? Any advice would help. Thanks Ellis

Never had push button start, but sounds like you might be correct on storing a working fob inside the truck. I am not away what the distant between the two must be for the push button to not start the vehicle.
Not sure how much trouble it would be, but you could remove the battery from the fob, then store the fob and battery separate. Without the battery installed, the truck should not start.
But, even doing that, if they find the fob, they can then go get a battery and come back for the truck. A good hiding place would need to be found that isn't obvious or normally accessed by a thief.

I also just bought a new truck and asked a very similar question. Since I ride horses in very remote country. I really don't want to take my Key Fob with me. I hate the bulk in my pocket and worry about loosing it, when I'm 30 miles from the nearest Cell reception.
The answers I got was to buy a Faraday Bag for the Key Fob.
These bags block all radio frequencies. Put the Fob in the bag and hide it somewhere in the truck and truck will not know that a key is near or inside the truck. Start button will not work.
Go to Amazon and search on RFID Signal Blocking Bag Shielding Pouch Wallet Case for Cell Phone You will see lots of choices from $7 up to $30-$40
Old habits die hard. Every time I approach the truck, I start to pull the key fob out to press the remote button to unlock the door. As I exit the truck, I keep reaching up to remove keys. I wonder how long it will take for me to Unlearn those traits.
I've always had an extra key hidden under the truck in a Magnetic Hide A Key box. Again a 50 year old habit. It has saved my a$$ more than once over the last 50 years. I will probably still get a manual key cut that I can Open the Doors with if a Battery is dead, lost key whatever. Even if I can't start the truck, Being able to take shelter inside the truck is still preferable to spending the night in a snowstorm outside.

Painted Horse,
I added this to my truck for two purposes. First and foremost was the event the battery dies and I do not have a key handy (yes, maybe price over a spare key) and to help others if they need a boost.
Got the info from a thread by AzLugs
