So my transmission that I put in the truck less than two months ago just went on me on Wednesday leaving work. I was hoping to get one today for a good deal but it was out of a 91 and where the shift linkage goes on was different so it wasn't going to work. My truck is a 94 7.3 idi
So I'm looking at a powerstroke that has a built E4od in it. I wouldn't mind picking it up anyways as I just bought a different powerstroke that's missing a couple parts today for a swap into my 92. Anyways, I'm wondering...
1. Could I use the fly wheel from the 97 powerstroke on my 94 idi so I could run the psd torque converter?
2. If I can't swap the flywheel, can I use the torque converter out of an idi in the transmission so I can still run it?
3. Are the plugs and shift linkage different between a 94 idi E4od and a 97 psd e4od?
4. Is there a difference in transfer cases between the years?
Rebuilding the transmission that just went is out of the question because I can't afford too.
Any other info is appreciated! I'm having troubles finding an idi E4od for my 94 around my area as I probably bought one of the last ones when I bought the one that just went on me.
I don't know the answer to this question.Yes, you can. It will fit and work fine.I don't believe they are different. They should work fine, except for the TRS on the side of the trans. Just use the one from the IDI transmission.I don't remember any changed here.
Thank you! Do you know if the plug for the shift solenoids are the same?
