Headed to Georgia for 10 Days. Pretty pumped. Looking forward to seeing what mileage I can get out of this truck on the highway. Spent the last couple days preparing, think we are ready to go.
Fresh oil change
Fuel cooler flush
New radiator
New body mount bushings
Greased the front end
Couple extra bottles of fuel treatment
Totally agree with Copper. Like many of us...you're doing your best to take care and have your engine perform. I hope you have no issues and she purrs down the road like a vibrator with fresh batteries...lol.
Pulled over to take winter cover off because temps were getting a little high for my taste. Get out and hear a screeching sound. Narrow it down to the fuel cooler pump. Unplug it and the sound stops. Since I flushed it yesterday I am trying to figure out what is going on. No flow whatsoever when I disconnected the lines from the cooler mounted behind the grille. So question is being that it’s 20 degrees would I be okay running the truck with the pump disconnected?
Or do I need to get a room and fix it tomorrow? At this point I will probably loose two days because none of the parts stores have it in stock.
Well it’s been 50 degrees the last too days. Pretty nice compared to the 10 inches of snow they got back home.
Trying to track down a driveline noise currently. Vibration at 60-70 mph, along with a hum when on the throttle, even when it’s lower speed. Let off the gas pedal and it immediately stops. I am thinking something along the lines of ujoints. Maybe the mid-shaft bearing in the drive shaft. Something, truck has 182,400 miles on her right now.
14.7 Mpg was the best that I saw. I haven’t ran out of this tank yet to fill up. So don’t know what the second leg of the trip got me.
Were you towing? If not, seems like you had been heavy on the pedal or running over hills constantly. I can get nearly 19mpg on my way to Dallas from Houston with a fresh tank and a trip reset.
Oh wait...were we going by the lie-o-meter or hand calcs?
