Extra capacity oil pan

Does anyone know anything about these: https://m.ebay.com/itm/Big-Block-Ford-chrome-steel-extra-capacity-Oil-Pan-351-c-cleavland-400m-drag-/282779006758

It seems pretty affordable but that's what I'm afraid of. I'm curious of any fitment issues.

Are you putting it on the "Beast"? I bet the beast has a rear sump oil pan...the pan you are looking at is for a front sump oil pan set up. Usually a front sump pan is for 2wd trucks and a rear sump is for 4wd.

351M info below. The 351M guru to ask about a quality high capacity pan. http://www.tmeyerinc.com/

As far as that pan in a rear sump set up working...do you have headers or the more common 2 into 1 Y that makes the dvrs side exhaust come over to the pass side then exit in a lone pipe? I ask because usually the dvrs side passes thru the area the bigger pan will be in.

You got it. For whatever reason, the picture had me thinking that was a rear sump. I do have long tube headers. I was hoping to add a high volume oil pump and another two quarts of capacity.

Read in those link about HV/ oil pumps ect...I think there is some advice about using a Melling oil pump.

Good reads. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/3...ification.html

More great info.
http://www.garysgaragemahal.com/351m-and-400.html click on the "Oiling System Mod's" and get your read on.

And again see Tim Meyers mentioned all over the place.

2X on what 77&79F250 said.

Melling oil pump is what you want. High volume / high pressure pumps are not necessary for a truck motor unless you're racing it.

Even a 500 hp 351C/351M/400 wouldn't need a fancy oil pump.

Wow, very enlightening stuff! I had no idea oil pressure issues were so common. I just assumed it was due to the poor engine build I'm dealing with. I'm pulling the motor due to leaks, lack of power...etc. This just got a lot more involved...
