When I get back to the states and pick up a new truck, I think I'm going to install a charger pig tail on my battery terminals for quick hook-up like I did on my previous Harleys...........I know it'll do my truck batteries well during extreme cold (overnight charge) or longer periods of inactivity.......
That's what I did. Use the BatteryMinder 1500. Keeps both batteries ready to go.
The MC batteries that come with the vehicle are "Made in USA" and the MC batteries that you purchase from the Ford dealer are "Made in Mexico". I believe the later doesn't last as long either.
original mc in my ol explorer lasted 15 years new mc lasted 4 now have a walmart battery
original mc battery in my F250 lasted 9 years...new mc battery still OK
The first time I've ever had an issue like this on a new Ford. :
It's leaking pretty good.
I was helping my FIL hook up his boostmax on his '15 2.7 f150. I noticed his battery has motorcraft and AMG on it, and looks a bit different than any other battery I've seen in a ford truck. I'm guessing it's a pretty high dollar battery, as his truck is equipped with that auto start/stop.

Had same problem on my '15. A slow leak started at ~18 months that got worse over time. After about 6 more months, I finally got tired of cleaning off the corrosion, and made time to take it in to dealer.
I was thinking that something was wrong with Alternator/Voltage Regulator and it was overcharging/cooking the battery. To my surprise the Jr Tech came back and said that my charging system tested fine under load. He then tried to say that the battery hookup for my aftermarket stereo amplifiers was the problem and "was causing the Battery to overcharge." Huh?
I asked if we could talk about his diagnosis with the Service Manager. The manager raised his eyebrows at the Tech's story, and then turned to me and said that they would fix the problem. A few minutes later, I had a new Service Tech and within 30 minutes the battery was replaced. One cell was bad, not taking a charge, and the rest were overcharging. They re-ran the charging system tests and gave me the print outs as proof that things were fine. No charge, it was all under warranty.
Service Manager said they got Motorcraft Battery problems in spurts. There'd be almost nothing for a month, and then they'd get 10 vehicles with leaky batteries in a week.

I guess I'm gonna pop my caps off and suck some acid out because my hold down is starting to rust on the corners. I've wiped off the top of the battery a few times since I've owned the truck the last two years.
Denny, Just replaced my Battery at dealership. $144.85 for a MC 100 Month battery with 650 ColdCrankingAmps. Old batter on a charge showed 395 CCA. What I did catch was the service tech initially asked what size I had. 650 or 750 CCA. He stated to put a 650 CCA back in because this is what I had. Mentioned diesels have 750's in them but have the bigger altenator in them. So, went with the 650. Good luck...
All tough the 650 is fine, and that's a good deal for a 100 month battery, I don't know why the tech related the the cca to the alternator output. For reference, I have the 200 amp heavy duty alternator, but still just have the 650 cca battery.

Ok you put in battery with a 100 month warranty with 36 month free replacement with the rest pro rated for $144.85, I can install a 750 cca not a 650 cca battery from Walmart with a 2 year free replacement no pro rating for half the price. When batteries age they lose their capacity because of normal charging and discharging that's why your last battery was down to 395 cca like I'm sure mine so I would rather start with more capacity to start with. I have no use for prorated warranties when the battery is over priced to begin with, it's been my experience that most batteries fail from detects in the first year or two after that they just degrade over time and the few I've tried to warranty because of low capacity but would still hold a charge so no warranty.
Went to go to the store this morning and put the key in the ignition and my seat started moving into position but I started it before it was done, seat never moved to set point and my presets were gone. I think the voltage dropped because the battery so I made a trip to Wal-Mart now have a new one and everything is good again, sure spin over faster
