2016 F-250 Key fob programming

I got a new key for my truck. I'm trying to see if I can program it myself? I need two keys in order to program my remote starter. Does anyone have instructions of programming this new key fob? Thanks

You need to cycle the ignition key from off to on 8 times. On the 8th time, leave key in ON position. The doors will lock and unlock indicating you are in the programming mode. Press a button on ALL remotes, even previous programmed remotes, so the system will learn them. Once all remotes are programmed, turn the ignition key off. Test all remotes. If they work, fine, if not try programming again.

Is there truly a difference in bit count for 2015/16 truck than previous? one Amazon review mentioned 128bit required, everything I see is 80bit. I figure getting new key prior to losing one of them would be a good thing, if nothing else it will prevent me from losing one.

Kept looking through cupboard, finally found FCC number: CWTWB1U793 - number matches, will give it a shot.

80 bit is the current keys for our trucks. I have not seen anything about 128 bit keys.

The remote should work. Make sure you program all remotes when in the programming mode. Any not programming by pressing a button will not work when you have exited the programming mode.

The remotes can be 3 or 4 button. The 4th button will not do anything for out trucks.

I now have 4 admins keys of which all will start, the two new keys will not operate the remote entry, are there additional steps to the 8 cycles? This didn’t work for me

No. When you program an IKT (key with fob head), the remote start, door locks are automatically programmed. See Page 64 of your owner's manual

Programming a Spare Key
Note:You can program a maximum of eight
coded keys to your vehicle. Only four of
these can be integrated keyhead
transmitters.
You can program your own integrated
keyhead transmitter or standard
SecuriLock coded keys to your vehicle. This
procedure will program both the engine
immobilizer keycode and the remote entry
portion of the remote control to your
vehicle.
Only use integrated keyhead transmitters
or standard SecuriLock keys.
You must have two previously
programmed coded keys and the new
unprogrammed key readily accessible. See
an authorized dealer to have the spare key
programmed if two previously
programmed coded keys are not available.
Read and understand the entire procedure
before you begin.
1. Insert the first previously programmed
coded key into the ignition.
2. Switch the ignition from off to on. Keep
the ignition on for at least three
seconds, but no more than 10 seconds.
3. Switch the ignition off and remove the
first coded key from the ignition.
4. After three seconds but within 10
seconds of switching the ignition off,
insert the second previously coded key
into the ignition.
5. Switch the ignition from off to on. Keep
the ignition on for at least three
seconds, but no more than 10 seconds.
6. Switch the ignition off and remove the
second previously programmed coded
key from the ignition.
7. After three seconds but within 10
seconds of switching the ignition off
and removing the previously
programmed coded key, insert the new
unprogrammed key into the ignition.
8. Switch the ignition from off to on. Keep
the ignition on for at least six seconds
until you hear the door locks cycle.
9. Remove the newly programmed coded
key from the ignition.
The key will start the engine if
programming is successful. You can
operate the remote entry system if the new
key is an integrated keyhead transmitter.
If programming was not successful, wait
20 seconds and repeat Steps 1 through 8.
If you are still unsuccessful, take your
vehicle to an authorized dealer.

That enabled the start, that is what I followed, shows four admin keys. I did find the following for programming remote entry and this did work. Note: existing keys horn sounded, new keys cycled the locks.
