So my temp gauge is working right I have the 4.9l straight 6 and I replaced what I thought was the temp sender and the gauge is still not working but after reading some other post I guess I replaced the sensor no the sender.
I was told that the sender will probably be on the back side of the motor ??
In the picture 2nd stud from the rear (first lower one) you can just make out the temp sensor as I painted it.
That could be an issue when I get mine running.
To see if it is the gauge or sensor with key on someone watching the temp gauge ground that wire and the gauge should move up to hot if everything between the wire & gauge is good.
Do the fuel & oil gauges work? If not did you check the fuse if it is good, use a test light. If fuse is good and grounding the other gauge wires also do not make them move the IVR on the back of the gauge cluster most likely is bad.
