Hi all. I've looked everywhere, but can't find anyone else having this problem.
Problem: When the window lock switch is on, all windows work properly from the drivers control. When the window lock is off, windows are sluggish for 5 minutes or so until the 30A window breaker trips. After the breaker trips, and cools/resets, we go back to the beginning. Before the breaker trips (within the 5-minutes) I can physically hear something running within each door (sounds like a small motor) when windows are not operating. When window lock is activated, noise stops.
What I have done so far: I have replaced the entire drivers window switch/window lock switch module. No help. I have disconnected all other window switches and still hear noise from doors and breaker still trips when lock is off. No help. looked at wires inside door jamb boot. All look new.
There is obvious constant power going to the window motors when the lock is off which overheats/trips the breaker. Any ideas?
The switch or switches for the non-driver's doors are stuck give up power to the motors or motor. That's why you're tripping the breaker and why locking out the other switches stops the problem.
Thanks! Nothing is jumping out at me, but I will study it some more. It has to have something to do with the wiring/modules after the window lockout. When that is turned on (windows locked) everything works as it should. I don't believe it has anything to do with the rear power slider or moonroof (has both) as the lockout does not effect either. I'm fearing the BCM.
If it is the BCM, you should be able to acquire one off eBay or junk yard. Using FORScan, you can save your As-Built data to reload the replacement. If you can't save your AB data, you can download your original AB data from Ford.
hello, I'm having the exact same problem you describe on my 2011 F350 Superduty. Could you share what you ultimately found to be the problem, and what the fix was please?
I’ve got a 2011 F350 Lariat
My front windows go up and down just fine, and my rear sliding window opens and closes great
however my two rear passenger windows do not go down
when I hit the button I can hear what sounds like a click but nothing happens, window lock is not on and rocking it on and off does nothing
Anything helps
