After sliding my 97 f250 into a non-forgiving tree it shutdown and won't start back up. I checked all fuses and still build oil pressure. Wait to start light does not come on. Do these trucks have inertia switches and if so what is the location?
You might get an answer in the forum this belongs in but where did it impact? The 99 on do have a fuel shut off in the passenger foot well side panel area but they have an electric fuel pump versus the earlier models...like yours...a mechanical pump.
If your truck has an electric fuel pump then probably. The inertia switch is designed to trip in the event the truck is involved in an accident so that fuel doesn’t leak out. Mine on my 2001 7.3 is behind the passenger kick panel. Not sure where yours would be. Can’t remember when 250’s went electric
you should put this post in the 7.3 forum. That’s more of a tech savvy place to post. I spend a lot of time there . All as said above
Do you have a chip installed? If you do not get a WTS light, it will not start. The crash may have knocked the chip loose. Remember to have your key removed if you're messing with the chip, assuming you have one installed.
Completely stock truck. I am hoping to find that the power supply comes off the starter solenoid like big trucks and I just broke a wire. Diagram should would be helpful.
follow the highlighted selections in this video I took for ya. You can see more tech questions and this is the proper year part of the forum for you truck. Sometimes I post things in this portion of the forum because on my phone I have this portion saved as a quick link and don’t think about it 😒
Up near the top of the page (after you return to the SD forum) you will see a link for FORUMS. You navigate through that to select the desired subforum.
Hook a code scanner to it and see if you can "see" the PCM. If you don't have a WTS light then I suspect the PCM took a hit or isn't getting power. Sorry I don't know more about the wiring specifically but that's what your symptoms are pointing toward.
