How to make a line graph??

Hey guys I logged a couple wot runs on my truck and would like to make a line graph. Can anyone lead me in the right direction on how to go about doing that? And do I need to convert any of the numbers?

brandon_oma#692 is really good at making graphs out of data points from TP. Perhaps you can ask him for some mentoring via PM and then post up here what you learned so that we can all learn from your experience.

This could be a start:

https://support.google.com/docs/answ...DDesktop&hl=en

If you have MS Excel you can google how to create charts with your version of excel.

ExPACamper has developed the PID 3D spreadsheet that imports data and makes line graphs and a little bit of engine evaluation. Libre Office is my sling of choice to combat the Goliathan Microsoft Office. Open Office was nice, but they slowed the development, and it can't perform a lot of the Excel functions after importing a file.

I just use a spreadsheet software and utilize the graphing capabilities. I do my own controls of the graph, but the wizards should help the novice graph maker.

If using TP or AE, in Windows with MS-Office, I can send you my spreadsheet program.

If someone wants to be "the guy" I can send an unlocked version and he can use it to do anyone's graphs or whatever he wants.

Just PM me an email address

(Rich posted at the same time as I did, LOL)

thanks John, I would just be using my SD card in my DP tuner. My wife is a little more computer savvy than I am, so maybe if you can send that over to me she will be able to figure it out. I will p.m. you my email address , Thank you for your help

A "line graph" of a few data points may look pretty, but will not be statistically significant. You need at least 18 - 20 data points to do a linear regression that means anything.

I tried logging a few things the past couple days and am trying to figure it out. Here is an example.

Tune number 13 is medium tow from 1023 EDIT ###### the purple MPH should be accelerator. It is now labeled "Go pedal" sorry for the mix up but I'm not redoing the images.

I am using Google Sheets and saving it in my drive so I can open it anywhere. Currently I don't have a computer at home. I'll try to explain the best I can.

I open the Csv file from torque pro and copy the data to excel or Google Sheets.

Sheet 1 is all the data from torque pro but i changed the date/time of each row to just be number 1 2 3 .... so it would not fill up the bottom of the chart with date and times. Also across the top row is my multiplier I can change. 1 for most 10 for fipw and -100 for any PID I want to hide off the chart.

Sheet 2 takes the data from sheet 1 times the multiplier.
Code:=Sheet1!B$1*Sheet1!B3
Code:=Sheet1!B$1*Sheet1!B4
etc. I can then have the chart look at the rows I want to graph.

Kinda flying blind here

Send me your email address by PM. My spreadsheet uses the CSV files unmodified, uses lookup tables to match the PID names, allows you to specify how many rows you want to graph (including every nth row) to zoom in or out, and the graphs automatically adjust for multiple numbers of rows and data.

It includes a couple of different graphs that groups the data in sets to evaluate certain conditions.

You can use it if you want.

The thing about graphs, is you need it to be as clear as possible. There is so much information that it can get very confusing real fast. To combat this... I am more inclined to strip out anything that doesn't contribute to what I am analyzing, and make the remainder more obvious to see. Below are some graphs I have made over the years, and John has good examples of his PID 3D stuff.

sure I'll take a look at it. I didn't explain mine very well. When I get on a computer again I'll post some screen shots.
