Thanks, just wanted some input on what others have used to remove the limiter.
I am a 75 year old guy that still races on road courses "Corvette" and drag strips "Falcon" and still have pretty good reflexes. I do not race or recommend racing on the street. 97 mph comes up quickly when you are passing, and it is not good to loose power when you have not completed the pass.
I appreciate the advice guys. I pay my taxes, my insurance, and my truck payments. Ill do as i see fit. If the speed limit is 75mph, there is a slow moving truck. 60mph on a 2 lane road with limited passing... im not going to spend the rest of my day behind them. To awnser the question i dont know of anything past a tuner that will disable the speed limiter. At that point might as well delete the rest of the epa crap that causes problems and excessive engine wear
To many miles and seen to many accidents because of speed and failures. I’ve even been caught due to unseen conditions such as black ice or objects in the roadway (room-size piece of carpet, paint cans, a ladder, oil from a blown engine) so I play it cautious.
That being said you’re welcome to drive as fast as you want but please watch out and think about the farmer with the hay wagon pulling into your lane. Been there and done that twice.
I have written and deleted my response to your disrespectful response.
When you get a little older you might learn to be more respectful to others.
Grow up.
Maxtor, when (not if) you crash and kill someone doing 97 mph in a pickup on a two lane road, what are you going to say to excuse your behavior? Where are you going that requires that kind of speed? This is not disrespect. This is the voice of reason. My comments are not aimed at you alone. There have been multiple posts here where guys think 90+ mph in a superduty is not fast enough. Save it for a closed course. The rest of us want to arrive safely.
Can you name some of the places you were headed where you would have felt safer if you could have exceeded 97 mph? Help us understand your situation.
Jav_eee, do not think anyone is "hating" but merely expressing caution with a 4+ ton truck at speeds above the limiter. I believe he is seeking the speed for such roads as the toll road and not so much the 2 lane roads. But honestly, how much quicker does one arrive with the burst of speed to pass someone to only get slowed down later waiting to pass them? Suspect not much time is saved. Your thoughts?
What is the speed rating on LT tires? I know on my '15 F-450 the speed is limited to about 84mph due to the commercial tires. LT tires should be higher rated but not by much.
Anyone that sees a need to go more than 97 mph does need a speed limiter adjustment. It needs to be adjusted to somewhere between 0 and 55 mph for that kind of attitude.

65 Ford;
I have read your inputs on mostly the FE forum and most of the time they are interesting and thoughtful. Your earlier post was disrespectful.
I have been driving for longer than most of the people here have been alive. "59 years" I have never had an accident. That being said, my original post was not to see if anyone agree's with what speed I drive, but to find a program to remove the limiter.
Hwy 299 going to Alturas is a two lane road, where normally you can't see a vehicle for miles.
It is not like "oh boy I get to do 97 mph". It is I need to clear the last vehicle before the clear view ahead is obstructed. The only way you know that you have reached 97 mph is when the engine stops pulling. Once you get around that last vehicle, you reduce your speed and continue on. So many self righteous posts, that make me laugh. How many here have not gone over the speed limit to pass a slower vehicle ahead of them? I think none.
If you have read most of my posts, you would have seen that I don't get mad very often. Your post just ticked me off, and I am disappointed in myself for getting mad. Yes one or two others have been disrespectful, but they might have the IQ of a rock, and why get mad at a rock, I expected better from you.
Now if someone wants to talk about a program, I am here to read their responses. If you want to talk about speed, start a new post.
Maxtor....
Well now that you have been scolded for driving fast. Pretty much any tuner will do it, sct, ezlynk, ndash, etc. I think it's in the tune thou, as my ndash never asked if I wanted to remove it but once tuned I passed a vehicle and went a little over the old limit and it no longer cut out. Not sure on forscan, may be possible as well. Might as well delete the emissions crap as well so you can get lectured on how your killing the planet.

LOL;
Thanks for your information. Have you used any of these programs? I have heard that sct is very good, but that was a long time ago.
Yeah I'm running ndash with Spartan tunes. I tuned it to delete the emissions crap. No dpf or egr on my truck. 5 stage shift on the fly as well. Whole new truck, runs wicked, good power, no throttle dampening, or torque management. That was my original goal but I was happy to see if I needed a little extra speed for a sec or two it was there. Don't race my truck either but have been slightly over the limiter to pass a bunch of vehicles from time to time. I do my racing in my supercharged 2011 coyote mustang. My mustang drive shaft doesn't blow apart at 140mph either, cool vid thou. Nice vette by the way.
I think sct is still good thou as well. Lots of ppl going with the ezlynk these days. If you have a 17 and plan on tuning ask some questions first from the tuner thou. Don't think the ezlynk does transmission tuning yet on the aluminum bodies. I definitely wouldn't run any kind of power tune without a trans tune as well

Open roads. No traffic. Good roads our ranch and farm roads are better than most of the state hiways in other states. Topography... we lack it. Its flat open and you can see for miles.
These trucks hand the road very well. It not like its 1962 which some of you folks seem to be stuck in. Often times on i-10 doing 80mph on the interstate is impeading traffic flow. Ever been to nascar qualifications... i mean the dfw metroplex? Again 70-90mph crusing speeds on the road ways. The toll way between satx and austin the speed limit is 85mph. Again folks drive well over that. Im guessing states with inferior road ways breed clueless drivers. Then again a hour gets you across state lines in a more densely populated area.
