It took me a while to notice that I was getting some, but then I got a little kick when I'd get one.
If you hover over the little green deals, you will get a popup with some kind of attaboy. Message changes as your points go up. Some of them used to be funnier. For a while mine said "ford2go is awesome to behold" -- I liked that one, but I think that they're more generic now.
Anyway, it's pretty hard to abuse the system. When you give somebody points, you have to give a certain number of others points, before you can give the first guy more.
In your control panel, you can see comments from anybody who gave you points. To give points, just click on the little approval deal on the top of a post.
