Need help

I'm thinking of buying a 1951 F-1 pick up. Its in need of alot of work. Just wondering how available parts are and how easy is it to get original parts to keep it and original as possible. I'm in PA.

Welcome to the site

I'm sure our members from PA will chime in with info relavent to your area.

Aftermarket parts are readily available for the '51's ; NOS probably not so much; with the recent interest in these old Ford trucks.

I'd say pull the trigger, its only money !

And time...much more of both than you think. But, that’s what makes it worthwhile in the end.

Welcome to FTE!
We would love to see pictures of the truck you are looking at. Our experts could give you some things to think about as you are negotiating price.
Here are the major suppliers of parts:
Dennis Carpenter Ford Car, F-100 Pickup Truck, 8N, 9N Tractor and Cushman Scooter Restoration Parts
https://www.macsautoparts.com/
Home - Mid Fifty F-100 Parts
Ford Truck Parts and Truck Accessories from LMCTruck.com

Your local parts store often has parts you need as well.
I have used all of those above. I have used MidFifty the most though. That may change though. Their shipping seems to be higher of late. Most carry the same stuff made by the same supplier.

Drider, welcome to FTE the best Ford Truck Forum on the world wide Web! You'll get plenty of help here.

If you want to keep it original it depends what kind of shape it is in now. Show us some pics. Many parts are reproduced, some you can buy used, and as Harrier said many like engine parts can be bought at NAPA.

I'm live in Lock Haven. We got guys all over PA.

Also, we are having a get together next September at the Bald Eagle State Park in Centre County. Read about it here: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...-plan-now.html

welcome to the forum there are lots of parts available and the guys on here like to trade and sell parts as needed. It is always good to put your town and state in and then someone close to you can help you more. That way we know if youre in york or philly.

Welcome to FTE. Parts are readily available from many sources. All you have to do is enter the part name in the search engine in this forum and you will come up with lots of good information.

Make sure that you post lots of pictures and post your location in the "UserCP/Edit Your Details" menu selection to remind everyone where you are. It also is a good idea to enter your truck (if you buy it) info in the signature block as there are differences year to year.
