I work at a small gas station/garage and we have been going through our old inventory from the last 20 or so years and I've come across a LOT of Ford/Motorcraft parts (nearly 30 parts in all). My problem is, we have no idea what vehicles any of these parts are for. I've been searching online parts catalogs (I do have part #'s) and I only get a general description of the part and the price. I'm kind of reluctant to call a Ford dealer and keep the parts guy on the phone forever trying to figure this all out.
1) You can email me your phone number, I'll call you. You can read the numbers to me, I'll write 'em down, look 'em up and email the list back.
2) Post all the part numbers here. I'll list what they fit...Ed's on vacation (for real) starting the 18th.
3) Or you can spend hours trying to figure out what the stuff is from that link posted above. 1/2 the info is wrong, a 1/4 of it is misleading, the rest is just plain confusing.
I'd like to bar-b-que the person who came up with that info.
Every time over the past 30 or so years, when I've seen that idiotic Ford part number defined crap, I wanna go out and hunt up the moron that came up with it.
One thing is just laughable.
In the body section, the cluck sez that 25 refers to luggage racks...I about scheiss a brick the first time I read that.
25 is the body code designation for SUPER CABS!
Example: Right lower body side Race Track moulding (between the door and the end of the cab) for a 1977/79 Super Cab: D7TZ-2525556-AA.
1963 was the ONLY year 25 refered to luggage racks, and only for the decklid mounted version.
That list was made up eons ago by/for some Ford car club members. It's prolly used today by most ebay sellers because they don't know one Ford part number from another.
They'll list a part and its number, then say what it fits. 99.9% of time, it's WRONG!
