Within the Model A community there are good reproduction parts and not so good parts.
I'm embarking on the restoration of my 1950 F1 Chassis.
I have ordered a number of catalogs and browsed a few websites and found similar products from one to another. Most prices seem to be comparable.
Does everyone sell from the same suppliers? Is quality consistent from one to another?
This may open up a can of worms, but who are the go-to parts houses selling F-1 parts out west and beyond?
Dennis Carpenter is the gold standard for many repop items. There are other very good houses for certain items - like Northern Classic Trucks offerings of metal pieces. Many appreciate the assistance from the folks at Mid-Fifty and Classic Haulers. Like any specialty area, no single source sells everything. And welcome to the world of the fat fendered.
Depending what you a looking for, if brake parts, NAPA has been able to help me with just about everything. Wheel bearings etc. If you are working on the chassis, I would check with them, they can have most anything within a day.
I have found the major parts houses have different quality parts available on some items, depending on what you ask for or demand. Prices may reflect quality.
Thanks guys, I have been buying model a stuff for a while and get the differences. I am not familiar with the Early Ford F1 community and wanted an education into the whos-who in F1 parts.
