Thanks guys, i changed it out with a motorcraft module. It starts, but is kinda sluggish the first time. It doesn't sound too good compared to before i replaced it.. I'll be going through and doing a tune-up with the spark plugs/wires, dist cap, and coil. I'm also doing a carb rebuild right now but i'll post that stuff in a different thread.
When I replaced the pickup coil in the distributor, my engine seemed to run better than it had in quite a while. I'd replaced the ignition module the day before but it died again just a half mile from the house. The pickup was under $30 if I remember right.

well damn, i should have picked it up while i was in town today. i'll pick one up tomorrow and let you know how it goes. thanks!
You might want to call ahead. Only place that had it local was O'Reily's. Not even NAPA had it at local. Maybe at the warehouse store down in Kent but I didn't think to check. Since I figured it was special order, I had the truck hauled back home on a flatbed. Again.
