So i used the remote starter as i always do and let it warm up. Jumped in, and not thinking, i hit the brake to pull it in reverse and the safety kicked in killing the motor. So i put the key in and turned it over. Now it cranks, but won't run. No smoke, batteries good, just cranks. I checked all fuses and all are good. HPOP has plenty of oil as does the motor. Fuel heater fuse is good. All lights act normal. WTS works the same. I removed remote starter and the dp tuner chip. No go.
when cranking though, there is one relay I can hear clicking as fast as the motor is cranking. Just can't narrow it down to location.
Halp!!!! Thanks all!
It's probably a stupid question but have you made that mistake before? What remedied the no start those times? With mine I had to push the start button again to reset the system or the truck would not start.
Try disconnecting BOTH batteries and either touch the pos & neg cables together to discharge everything or leave it disconnected for a bit, Then restart.
what brand remote start do you have? Go to their website and see if they have this problem in their FAQs.

Yes I have but it has always started up with the key right after. This is the first no start like this.

I am thinking same thing. Hopefully I can find the site. This unit is about 8 yrs old.
My inactive system is a CompuStar from about 1999 but I have had to deal with it a little. What mine does when it sends a 'no start' is cuts out a relay in the wire that feeds the starter relay under the dash. It sounds like yours does something different. But you say that all other things work when key is on, right?
OK, I see you have a '99, try turning the key on and either apply power to the small lug on your starter relay on the passenger's side fender or jump the large lugs with a screwdriver and see if it starts for you. Tread easy with that screwdriver, there are a lot of amps there and you don't want to short 'er out.

Yes...everything looks and sounds correct when the key is in the ON position.
Cranks but won’t run.

It turns over....just won’t actually run. Cranks quick and smooth. Not even trying to catch.
