Is Ford phasing out the support because of problems with it? The dealership just put the 4th battery in my truck in 6 months; they are fairly certain that the module is causing it. Asked me to leave it unplugged for a while and see if I am still having battery issues.

I have had mine since Jan and no battery issues. You may have a bad unit.

They are phasing it out because it has been replaced with a new service/hardware in some sync 3 vehicles. I heard rumors that the 2018 will support the new service but I have not seen that confirmed.

What I'd like to know is if it is supported in the 2018 model is it something we can upgrade ours too or is it integrated into the head unit?

There is no way for them to bench test it and I bought it from Banner; not the dealer. Not even sure if a return is in the cards.

Parasitic drains are not that difficult to troubleshoot they should be able to tell whether the unit is causing it or not.

Day 2 after being sent to Bobby's voicemail and leaving a message. No answer.
Fairway told me to get back to them if I had no luck with Banner. I did so and asked them to put a package & price together for me, as they offered to source the parts from those left available in the network. That's been kind of the end of the line there also.
Maybe that's a sign to wait for Ford's new offering. But that means no starting my pickup via phone this winter when I'm at the last stop of my job before heading back to park the company truck.

Has there been any confirmation that the new offering (Sync Connect I think) will be able to be added to our trucks?

Nothing that I've seen. Just speculation on my part that they'd make it backward compatible for the '17's if they're doing away with the old module & app.

That would be nice. I have the current setup but the new Sync Connect does several things that the remote app does not.

I've found both modules online for just over $300 total. My question now - is there some sort of hood switch required to be on the truck like I needed for the 2016 model?
I believe I read here that RMU DL3Z-19A360B and VSS FT4Z-19A361A will work, even though an ebay vehicle compatibility chart says no for 2017/6.2.

No comments on if a hood switch is required like on the previous body style?
It's the only thing that held me back from buying modules this afternoon after not getting replies from Banner and Fairway.
I know that I've not seen one on my 2017. The truck has no factory remote start, just the usual lock/unlock/panic in the flip key.

No, I never installed a hood switch. I just installed the modules, took it to the dealer and they activated the SIM. Setup my account and its been working great for the 7 months Ive had it.

Thanks. Got the last RMU that Tasca had on ebay and a VSS from Lasco Ford. I hope to get 'em going with FORScan after installation.
Downloaded the app and it still has my previous SIM information there. No provision that I can find in the app to delete it. That module & SIM went with the previous truck. I'll have to try and contact SpinDance when the new stuff arrives.
