Ford Remote Access App

Got my VSS and Remote Access modules installed and set up on my 2017 F-250 Lariat Ultimate. A big thank you to Bobby at Banner Ford for the great deal on the parts and quick service for the activation.

Just wondering if anyone knows of a way to turn off the sounds of the Remote Access App. It is rather cheesy sounding and kind of a nuisance.

Bobby was great when I installed the modules in my 2016.
Looking to get the parts and do my 2017 but nobody from Banner seems to reply. I've emailed Fairway Ford today. We'll see if they come through when the work week begins.

Sounds can be adjusted in the app on phone.
Tap the gear in the lower right corner.

As suggested, check out Banner Ford or Fairway Ford online. Much cheaper than Ford's accessory site.

Unfortunately that seems to be a trend among customer service these days. Thats why I prefer to call or just click buy on something listed online.

Fairway got back to me today. What we've heard here about the remote start via cell phone app is true, it's being discontinued.
Now I'm trying to decide whether to search for the parts and install myself like last time or to forget it for now. I'm thinking if Ford has discontinued this, app support is likely to dry up. If there's a problem in the future with the app, the developer like will have moved on and forgotten about it.

Good point Poncho, I was too busy today to get around to calling. Viper Car Alarms has the same system available. May look into that.

No gear here. Are you on iPhone? Maybe Android app is different.

I am on Android. Here are two screen shots from my Samsung Note 8. There is the three dot menu button on the bottom right. When you hit that you see the gear icon.

Guess it was just a problem specific to my phone (Galaxy S6). They did away with the more options or menu button on the S6.

Had to enable the accessibility assistant and add a more options button and then was able to go to settings of the Remote Access app.

Viper SmartStart. I've had them in a couple of other vehicles. Basically the same thing. But the yearly fee is more than Ford.
And if you're like me, you won't want to tackle removing the tangle of wires the comes along with it. I let the last one go when I traded the truck.
I'm still tempted to take a chance if I get get the Ford modules just for the plug & play. Waiting on Bobby from Banner Ford to return a voicemail. Fairway from Ohio has been in touch also and said that they'd assist me with one.
