Question No 4x4 help!

Alright I just tired to put truck in 4x4 and got nothing! No light on the dash, no clicking, no nothing. I put two brand new relays in since I had spares for that but still nothing. Checked the fuse under the dash and tests good. I will add I just had my transmission rebuilt so the tranny and transfer case were out of the truck recently, could the shop have messed something up? I jumped under the truck and checked the plugs on the t case and they seemed fined, I will pull them off and inspect just to make sure. Any other suggestions as to what to check or do to solve the problem? Thanks!

Check to ensure the Plug for the Motor is attached at the Unit. You may also look for pinched, shredded, or otherwise damaged wires from the install.

I know this isnt exactly related, but I would also check (assumeing you have ESOF) the vac hoses just incase those are beginning to rot away, when the lines fail they WILL prevent the hubs from locking correctly (if in auto mode) so I would make sure those are good also.

aside from that I agree 100% with pirsch it sounds like a plug or wire either got left disconnected or pinched, depending on how long ago that was I would be taking it back to that shop to have them make sure they didn't accidently foul any thing up.

Well was definitely something with the plug. I pulled it off and cleaned it, put it back on and magically it is working again. Thanks guys! Guess I should have checked the plugs first before I posted but they seemed ok on first glance. Definitely going to call the shop and give them an ear full as I would have thought they would check that after install before they gave it back. Just got truck back last week after new tranny and new red head steering box.

I would suggest getting a can of electri clean (I think that is the spelling) its basically parts cleaner that is safe for electric parts, and shoot the connectors with it and that should help, it worked on a turn signal for my truck that had stopped working so I know its good stuff....

Henry, you fixed it before I could get to you, which is good. I had the exact same issue and it was the plug on the shift motor had worked its way loose. Plugging it in all the way resolved the problem.
