Blinkers flashing slow, horn not working on 68 F100
Newbie here:I have a 68 F100 and one of the problems I have is with the blinkers. The L&R blinkers will not flash at all unless the truck is running and even then they are slow to flash.I assume it is because when truck's running voltage put out by the ALT is higher and it causes flasher to work. What can I do or replace to make them work all the time?
Horn not working and I have checked relay out by battery and it is good.I put a test light on all the wires coming from steering column and can't get anything out of none of them. What color wire would my horn be inside steering column?

Turn Signals: I just completed a project on mine. See post on Weak Signals from today. If it were me, I would check out all your wiring out back. Is it a rats next of frayed wires? You may want to make your own wiring harness out back and run new wires to turn signals. Make sure all grounds are clean. Your taillights buckets are the grounds when screwed to bed. Try replacing bulb sockets too. You may also want to just try a new flasher unit first. Cheap and easy.
Horn: I have had trouble with mine in the past. There is a little springy like device that makes contact when you press the horn ring. I had to do a little creative work on mine to make sure it was making contact. You may need to replace your fuse too if you aren't getting power up to the steering wheel. I assume you are using a test light up there to determine whether or not you are getting power. Make sure it works at that horn fuse, and trace your way up. Make sure it works, and is well grounded.

Horn brush fits into a hole on the outside of the steering wheel, visible when the horn button or horn ring is removed.
The brush fits into an insulator that is hand pressed into the wheel...it may be missing. People remove the wheel, and then it could fall out unnoticed.
Horn brush contains a tiny copper wire that snaps, horn no longer blows. If the insulator is missing, horn no longer blows.
Inside the horn ring (button does not have it) is the rubber "horn blowing pressure pad." Over time it flattens out or disintegrates, horn no longer blows.
Horn button: 1961/69 Standard Cabs; 1970 Custom / Horn Ring: 1961/69 Custom Cabs; 1965/69 Ranger; 1970 Sport Custom/Ranger/Ranger XLT
All these parts are reproduced and were also used in misc 1960/64 cars, 1965 Mustang w/a generator.
