My mom had an uncle who was very “frugal”. He saved and reused everything. He had an old ten gallon air compressor in his garage that had a power cord he made using a female end of an extension cord, he had a piece of cord that had two male ends that he plug one into the female compressor cord and the end into the wall. That wasn’t the best pat of it. The tank of the compressor was old and had pin holes in it. He used self tapping screws to seal the half dozen holes in it! Talk able a grenade waiting to blow!

Ignorance is bliss until someone gets hurt. I don't think he realized the ramifications of his actions. Personally, I wouldn't buy a used compressor over a year old unless I looked into it with my borescope, and believe it or not, I was refused that once. My big air compressor, bought new, has an automatic condensate drain.
