Morris, you probably caught that cold out there on your bicycle bringing in your firewood (see post #97). As you get older, you have to be more careful. I bet it's been cold out there on the prairie. It was 26 below here in WI just the other day-- Only 13 below this morning. I've been doing some cross country skiing, but no biking.
The coldest we had in Central PA was about 5 above. It is 18 now and a snow event. Not much... I hope it is not too much to use my blower to delete the snow rather than a shovel or my snow thrower.
I had to delete some ice from the cold water line to the sink in my little bathroom downstairs today. The sink is in the corner of the room in the corner of the house and the water line is right next to the foundation in a crawl space. I insulated that crawl space and especially that corner thoroughly many years ago. It's been several years that it has frozen up.
It got to -5° F last night. I for sure did not want to crawl into that crawl space..... I stuck a space heater in the crawl space opening and used the wife's hairdryer from above and it soon thawed out. Only getting to 10° tonight.
The good news is that the usual Pacific Northwest weather has deleted the leftover Christmas snow, and our green grass is back. I knew there was a reason we moved to the left coast.
