Heater controls

Watching " Iron Resurrection " and it reminded of something I'm also having issues with, my heater/ac control selector. It won't switch off of defrost . It blows hot , when the temp's there , but will not switch from 1 spot to the next, hi/lo/vent etc. . Anyone have any suggestions as to where to start ?

Yes, I think so.

There is no need (usually) to pull the dash to check for this. Of course, if you'd bother to explicitly identify your truck, it would be easier. We are not psychic.

Didn't figure on you being physic . '01 Ford Super Duty,V-10 Triton, 4x4. Turn the heater on the controls won't switch from top to any other position , just stays on defrost.

Check the PVH solenoid for a cracked body and check the vacuum lines from the supply manifold through the firewall to the HVAC control head.

Went looking for the PVH solenoid . No luck finding that.So I did the next best option for me. I did find the vacuum line going into the cab area. I did find somethng that looked like the PVH , but won't swear to it . I by-passed it . Now I got control of the heater selector again.
