According to ND, there were no 4wd Camper Specials until 77 IIRC. So those lamps or fenders are add-ons.
I was thinking the same thing but the only substantiation I had was the 74 and 76 F250 4x4s I bought new both being labeled "Not suitable for slide in camper use"
And a front extra one too Jeff.
As nice as that truck looks, I'd try to find a good craftsman to replace what needs replaced inside. $1800 seems like a lot. If the replacement bed can be painted and installed cheaper, then that is the way I would go.
Good eye Willow. I caught the cab corner moulding but missed the front Camper Special lamp.

Funny thing, I'm surprised he didn't catch this and post about it. True, no "regular production" 4X4 Camper Special Bumpsides. Guess the PO was just personalizing this rig. Nothin' wrong with that.
If I’m not mistaken it had to do with new DOT laws in 68, thus the side reflector on the 68 f100 and they changed yet again in 69 thus the added rear reflector on the 69 and yet again in 70 for illuminated corner lites thus the wrap around Amber in the front and the lighted rear lamp on the side at the tail light.
IIRC, the heavier trucks were mandated to have an illuminated front side marker.
