Truckbed Mat
I have a 1969 F250 with a full sized bed, I've been tring to find one of those rubber mats for it, The problem is they only go back to a 1973 in thier listing, What full sized bed in a newer truck is the same as my 1969? I just got this truck, Was my grandfathers. it has 43000 miles on it. A little rust around the tail gate and in the bed from the scratches.
Thanks

The 73-79 wheel wells were more "rounded" as compared to the 67-72 variety which were "boxey". I would suspect that the mat would fit fairly well anyway. You may want to get your tape measure out and compare the two styles to make up your own mind.

Tim, the newer bed should be larger, and you most likely will have to use a drywall knife to make it fit anyway. I have one that came in a donor truck bed (65) and it looks like it was cut to fit.

Tim, The 1967-72 and 1973-79 truck beds are quite different, especially in the wheelwell area. If you put a 1973 mat into a 1969 truck, the result will have two problems: 1.) the mat will not lay flat at the wheelwells, and 2.) the mat will leave uncovered areas at the sides. The first problem can be solved with a knife, but the second one can't. A 1973 mat just looks wrong in a 1969 truck. Because of this, I bought one of those "universal, cut to fit" mats from JC Whitney. I have been too busy lately to even take it out of the box, so I can't tell you anything about the quality of the JC Whitney mat. I hope it's OK. Art

Tim, I have a ’68 F250 a full size bed and found that the rubber mats made for the mid 80’s Dodge (sorry about that) 8’ bed will work with only minor trimming. The mat itself spans the bed’s width and length with no gaps or overlap. The only trimming required was to the wheelwell cutouts and where the auxiliary fuel tank filler protrudes into the bed. The mat fits the boxy wheelwell dimensions but are not deep enough due to Ford’s narrower rearend. Just trimming the inner wheelwell cutouts 1-inch deeper solved this. A little trimming around the tank protrusion and now the mat looks like it was made for it. The only drawback is that it says “Dodge” on the bottom.

Don't know if this will help, but I have a 68 Ranger with a bed liner from a mid 80's dodge in it(and it looks great). So as mentioned by BBB the mid 80's mat should work with minor trimming. Now my truck is a short bed , so I can't say about the long bed dimensions.Good Luck.
