Steering column collar
I have looked and must be missing it, but I am looking for a Ford part number or after market replacement idea for a steering column collar for a 1978 F150. It is an automatic without tilt wheel. I see replacements for columns with tilt wheel and three speed manuals. The aftermarkets list 73-77. Any idea if they work on a 78. Thank you

I believe all 78-78 had a tilt column so you'll only find aftermarket ones.
I accidentally purchased this one based off the photo. The photo on the website is NOT of the part they sell. They put the photo of the tilt piece on accident.

Thank you. I looked at Mac's catalog and some internet suppliers and obsolete Ford parts sites. They all listed ones with tilt wheel. I have never have purchased from or browsed JBG's site. I will now.

Tilt and fixed columns take different collars, pre-78 versions won't fit your truck.
Shift socket (that's what Ford calls them)
Fits: 78-79 E/F100-350, all engines, w/ FMX, C4, or C6 trans
Non-adjustable column D9TZ-7228-B
With adjustable (tilt) column D9TZ-7228-A

Tilt wheel (not available with 3 M/T) operates by pressing the T/S handle forward.

Tilt column (only the wheel tilts) was an option, so most F100/350's, Bronco's & Econolines do not have it!
Tilt wheel (not available with 3 M/T) operates by pressing the T/S handle forward.
