Round 2

Its back running and this time hopefully for a while

it runs after you turn the key off and its either a short in the ignition switch or something else I just need to know what causes this sort of thing

Can you be more specific when you say "...it runs after you turn the key off..."? Does the engine literally continue running like the ignition switch is in the run position (i.e. key in and turned to the right) OR does it just "diesel" a little and then die after the ignition is turned off?

I think it's probably more diesels a bit but I admittedly don't know what that means

it barely lumps over a few times then dies

Incorrect ignition timing can cause dieseling, as can having the idle fuel mixture wrong.

"Dieseling" is slang for when an engine continues to run after the key is off. But, the engine is basically stumbling the whole time (i.e. it's not idling or racing). Normally only lasts a couple of seconds, sometimes longer if something is really out of adjustment. Let us know.
