Key stuck in ignition
#6
Is the truck a manual transmission? I don't know what you know, so I apologize if it seems dumb but if it is a manual transmission you have to push the button on the bottom of the column to get it to turn all the way back. If that isn't the issue, you likely need to get the ignition switch off and it hopefully will move the rest of the way. Since the key is in the lock, you can also remove the whole lock cylinder. That is better than when you have no key, as if memory serves, you have to turn the key and cylinder forward to remove it. I would have to look up the procedure, as it has been a while. I would check out the ignition switch though. You have to drop the column down a bit to get to it, as the switch itself is operated by a rod from the lock cylinder and is mounted on the top of the column under the dash. 2 little bolts allow it to come off.
